The cornerstone laying ceremony for the permanent site of the International Finance Forum – or IFF – took place on Sept 9 in Guangzhou's Nansha district.

Covering an overall area of around 200,000 square meters, the permanent site of the IFF – an independent, non-profit and non-governmental international organization dedicated to high-level financial dialogues -- will have a total floor space of nearly 250,000 sq m.

Officials said earthwork excavations, structural construction, interior and exterior decoration, lighting and landscape engineering will be carried out in stages and the facility is expected to open by the end of September in 2022.

Zhuang Haibo, chief planner of the Administrative Committee of the Nansha Development Zone, said that the construction of the site should meet top standards in China, to make sure that the project can win national awards.
