On September 16th, the Launching Ceremony of Guangzhou- and Foshan Joint Global Investment Promotion Mmechanism was held in Guangzhou, marking the further cooperation of the co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan. Lin Daoping, Guangshou’s deputy mayor, and Qiao Yu, Foshan’s deputy mayor attended the conference.
According to the conference, Guangzhou and Foshan will focus on the Guangzhou-Foshan High-quality Development Integration Pilot Zone and take the opportunity of construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to promote the further integration of Guangzhou’s production services and Foshan’s manufacturing industry, which will focus on theattracting investment inof finance, modern logistics, business services, e-commerce, scientific and technological services, manufacturing industry and other fields.
It has been 11 years since Foshan and Guangzhou signed the cooperation framework agreement on the co-urbanization construction in March, 2009. Gao Yuyue, deputy secretary-general of Guangzhou Ggovernment, said that Guangzhou will work with Foshan to reform and actively explore new paths and models for the development of co-urbanization, enhance the leading role of Guangzhou-Foshan Pole, and promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Specifically, the two cities will jointly organize a series of brand investment promotion activities, hold investment promotion conferences and thematic cooperation forums for the world's top 500 enterprises, state-owned enterprises and leading enterprises; and they will jointly makeproduce the investment promotion films and handbooks of the co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan, etc.
Wu Wenzhi, deputy secretary-general of Foshan Ggovernment, said that launching the Guangzhou-Foshan Joint Global Investment Promotion Mmechanism aims to send a signal for the closer cooperation to jointly face a new round of regional competitions and challenges, and comprehensively create a new era to jointly build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Pole.
Next, under the background of the Guangzhou-Foshan cooperation, Guangzhou and Foshan will jointly work on infrastructure connections, deepen further industrial cooperation, and innovation coordination, and strengthening urban governance cooperation and other fields, and constantly enrich the new connotation of domestic regional integration cooperation model in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Stewart, Steven R., Vice President of the Asian Apparel Department of Lycra from America, who has invested in Foshan, said that the convenient airport and high-speed railway services provided by the co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan hasve enabled the company to rapidly response to major customers in South China, and the universities in Guangzhou and Foshan have also provided rich talent resources and reserve, bringing great convenience to the development of the company.
After the conference, Guangzhou and Foshan arranged five investment environment inspection routes, one of which is to investigate the Guangzhou-Foshan High-quality Development Integration Pilot Zone running through Liwan District of Guangzhou and Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster of Foshan.
