The first Annual Conference on Multinational Corporations Investment in Guangdong will be held in Guangzhou on September 27 to 29. The Department of Commerce of Guangdong, the organizer, will release latest measures to encourage multinationals to set up headquarters in Guangdong, as well as a special report on investments of Fortune Global 500 companies in the province.
A total of 24 activities, online or offline, are scheduled during the three-day conference. So far, more than 300 entrepreneurs and executives of nearly 200 multinationals - from 16 countries and regions including Japan, Korea, the US, the UK, Germany - have confirmed their participation. The multinationals include a number of Fortune Global 500 companies, such as Siemens, Panasonic, GE, ExxonMobil, P&G, Hyundai.

The special report on investments of Fortune Global 500 companies in Guangdong, which sheds light on the features and trends of Global 500 companies' investment in Guangdong as well as its positive influence on the region's social and economic development.
The province will also issue latest measures to encourage the multinationals to set up their Chinese or regional headquarters in Guangdong. The measures are said to ramp up policy incentives by providing multinationals with special government funds and R&D subsidies.
For instance, regional headquarters of multinational companies with an annual foreign investment over $10 million, will be awarded 2% of the investment (with a cap of RMB 100 million). For companies which pay tax on an income of more than RMB 100 billion annually for the first time, there will also be a one-time award of 30% of the contribution.
In addition, during the conference, the organizer will announce 22 names, from economic and commercial circles at home and abroad, to be Guangdong's first group of 'Global Investment Advisers'.
By working hand in hand with the provincial government, the advisers will promote the business environment of Guangdong, convey business information to the global community and attract top projects and talents across the globe to invest and settle in Guangdong, said the organizer.
