Notice! Recent traffic adjustments in GZ
Update: 2020-02-11     Source: lifeofguangzhou

To help control the spread of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus, local and national officials have introduced various measures to reduce crowds in the transportation system.
To facilitate transportation during the post holiday travel rush, passenger vehicles with no more than seven seats are allowed to pass toll stations on expressways nationwide without paying tolls until midnight on February 8, according to the Ministry of Transport.
Guangzhou Metro
Guangzhou Metro line 7 will not extend its operating hours from February 5 to 11. And Guangzhou Metro line 2 (Guangzhou South Railway Station-Jiahewanggang Station) will extend its service hours during February 7-9, with its last train at 12:45 p.m. instead of 11:30 p.m.. The train stops only at Luoxi, Changgang, Gongyuanqian, Guangzhou Railway Station and Jiahewanggang Station for passengers to get off the train only.
Tram Haizhu 1 (THZ1), Guangzhou's above ground tram service, also adjusted its service hours.

The terminal station of Metro line 3 north extension has now changed from Tiyu Xilu station to Panyu Square station. And trains don’t stop at platform 5 and 6 of Tiyu Xilu station. Passengers bound for Airport North need to wait for trains at platform 4. Besides, the exit D of Gangding station of line 3 has been closed since January 25.
From February 3 to 9, Guangzhou Metro also extends the running interval of metro trains according to the actual passenger flow. Passengers may expect longer waiting time for trains.
Ban on nonlocal vehicles eased
To reduce potential cross-infection in public transportation, such as bus and metro, the traffic police department of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau encourages citizens to use private vehicles, and allows nonlocal vehicles, those without a Guangzhou license plate —"粤A" —to run in Guangzhou's central area until February 9.
The designated area of traffic control in Guangzhou is as follow.

Rules to restrict vehicles from outside the city ordinarily mandate that non-local vehicles will be banned for four days after they have operated in the city for four days.
From today to February 9, night buses, business lines, sightseeing buses, and peak hour express lines (except those running all day) will be suspended. The interval for all buses in Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, and Huangpu districts will be adjusted to 30-60 minutes, except some lines with large passenger flow.
Water buses from Baihedong to Baixianke (白鹤洞—白蚬壳), from Xidi to Aozhou (西堤—鳌洲), from Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions Wharf to Qiankou Wharf (省总—堑口码头), from Fangzhi Wharf to Tianzi Wharf (纺织—天字码头) will be suspended. Only one ship will operate on the Huangsha-Fangcun (黄沙—芳村) and Yuzhu-Changzhou lines (鱼珠—长洲) respectively, and will run at an interval of 20 minutes in peak hours, and 30 minutes in the rest of the day.
Passengers may contact 96900 to ask questions regarding bus and water bus operation, and call 96891 for metro operation.
