Frequency of trains on all Guangzhou Metro lines to be reduced
Update: 2020-02-06     Source: Newsgd.com

Based on current epidemic prevention and control measures Guangzhou Metro has decided to reduce the number of trains on all lines according to the actual situation from February 3rd to February 9th. If passenger volumes increase it will immediately increase capacity to meet demand.

February 3rd sees the first working day after the Spring Festival national holiday, and this year Guangzhou Metro saw a total passenger flow of 876,000, a dramatic reduction from last year’s 6,497,000.

Due to the sharp decrease in passenger flow brought by the present situation, Guangzhou Metro is optimizing its operation. For example, the terminal station of the north extension of Line 3 has temporarily changed from Tiyu Xilu to Panyu Square.

Operating information

* Last train service

The scheduled 75-minutes extra running time on Line 7 (from Guangzhou South Railway station to Higher Education Mega Center South station) from February 5th to 11th has been cancelled.

Line 2 (from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Jiahewanggang) from February 3rd to 11th, has been adjusted to only allow pick up at Luoxi, Changgang, Gongyuanqian, Guangzhou Railway Station and Jiahewanggang. All the passing stations are alight only.

* Changes to Line 3

Line 3 now operates two routes throughout the day, which are “Panyu Square-Airport North” and “Panyu Square-Tianhe Coach Terminal” with the terminal station of all Line 3 trains having been changed from Tiyu Xilu to Panyu Square.
