Update: 2020-03-11     Source: eguangzhou.gov.cn

A total of 59 projects started construction in Guangzhou's Nansha district on March 9, covering eight areas, spanning cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, as well as advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, modern agriculture, and high-end finance.

The overall investment and the expected output value of each project is over 160 billion yuan ($23.04 billion). These projects are expected to showcase the construction achievements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and boost the establishment of the demonstration zone for the full cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Among all these projects, 59 of them are aimed to boost the construction of the Greater Bay Area, accounting for 94.91 percent of the total projects.

HSBC Global Training Center in Nansha, which is expected to finish construction in 2023 and start operation in 2024, will be able to provide training for 14,000 employees of HSBC in the Asia-Pacific region and its global senior managers, becoming a hub for financial knowledge in the Greater Bay Area.

Vitasoy International Holdings Ltd has also signed on to set up a headquarters company in Nansha, which will be its headquarters and distribution center in China.

A person in charge of Vitasoy said that the project will boost the development of the headquarters economy, as well as commerce and trade in Nansha, making contributions to turning Nansha into a demonstration area for cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The modern agricultural pilot park project in Nansha's Mingzhu Bay featuring Lingnan characteristics was also signed. The park, covering a total area of 10,300 mu (686.67 hectares) and costing 3 billion yuan, will help to build Nansha into a demonstration garden city in the Greater Bay Area.
