Update: 2020-03-27     Source: Newsgd.com

On March 25th, an expat who broke the rules around home-quarantine received a warning from Tianhe Police, according to the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau.

The man was required to undergo a 14-day home quarantine in Tianhe district after he returned to Guangzhou on March 11th. The expat went out without permission and was found and stopped by the staff at the gate of his community on March 24th.

Tianhe Police immediately went to his home and issued him a warning about the consequences of violating the provision. Given that he apologized sincerely for his behavior, the police took no further action.

Tianhe Police stressed that were he to break the rules again, he would be sent to a designated site for isolation and the immediately returned to his country of origin as soon as the quarantine over.

Since March 8th, inbound travelers, irrespective of their nationality, must undergo a 14-day quarantine at home or in designated venues. The community will provide health check services.

During this crucial period of epidemic prevention and control, all inbound travelers should abide by relevant laws and regulations. Fake reports, concealment of travel and/or medical history, and violation of quarantine will be investigated by public security bodies.
