A delegation of officials from consulates general of foreign countries in Guangzhou visited foreign service centers and companies producing anti-COVID-19 materials on May 5.

Organized by the foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government, the visits gathered a total of 41 officials from consulates general of 34 foreign countries in Guangzhou.

The visits aimed to help officials from consulates general of foreign countries in Guangzhou get a deeper understanding about the city's efforts in carrying out COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, as well as the city's socio-economic development, pushing forward the cooperation between Guangzhou and foreign countries.

The foreign service centers in Guangzhou have been offering anti-COVID-19 epidemic, as well as management and community services for foreigners in the city. In addition, the centers have also been providing services like volunteer recruitment and free Chinese lessons to help foreigners better adapt to the local living environment.

During the event, officials also visited Guangzhou Double One Latex Products Co Ltd. Established in Guangzhou in 1955, it is the first State-owned company in China that specialized in producing latex products, as well as the manufacturing equipment for latex products.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the company has quickly transformed to produce medical masks. It currently possesses a high-speed production line and four low-speed production lines for masks.

The delegation spoke highly of the production lines as these lines can achieve a production capacity of 1,000 masks per minute and one million masks per day on average.

The foreign service centers in Guangzhou offer anti-COVID-19 epidemic services, as well as management and community services for foreigners in the city.
