Lu Yixian, Party secretary of Nansha district, met with the delegation led by Andrei Popov, consul general of Belarus in Guangzhou, on Oct 15.
Lu expressed a warm welcome to the delegation and outlined Nansha's development conditions, noting that Nansha enjoys convenient transportation as it is located in the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which has enabled the district to experience rapid development in areas spanning import and export trade, port logistics, as well as the automobile industry.
Lu added that Nansha has taken the lead in launching innovative reform initiatives, such as facilitating commerce and investments.
China and Belarus has established a long and profound friendship, in which Belarus has gained great momentum in developing high-tech industries.
Lu said that he believes that Belarus and Nansha can expand communication and cooperation in areas like economy, trade, scientific innovation, and sister-city relationships, adding that Belarus is also welcome to set up exhibition windows in Nansha.
Popov expressed great interest in Nansha's rapid development. He said that he believed that the cooperation opportunities between Nansha and Belarus in economy, trade, scientific innovation, culture, and tourism are huge.
Popov added that efforts will be made in the forging of a sister district relationship between Nansha and a district of Minsk, capital of Belarus.
