The consulate general of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou officially opened on Oct 27, increasing the total number of foreign consulates general in Guangzhou to 66.
Its consular district covers Guangdong province, Fujian province, Hunan province, Hainan province, and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The establishment of Uzbekistan's consulate general in Guangzhou will inject new vitality into the development of China-Uzbekistan relationship, while enhancing friendly communications and cooperation between the South China region and Uzbekistan.
The bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and China have been developing smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. The two countries forged a strategic partnership in 2012 and established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016. The two countries have carried out fruitful cooperation in fighting against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
