The video conference on the innovative development and integration of tourism, culture, and business on Beijing Road in Guangzhou is held on Oct 30.

The video conference on the innovative development and integration of tourism, culture, and business on Beijing Road in Guangzhou was held on Oct 30, gathering domestic and overseas experts in tourism and culture from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as well as United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).

Discussions on how to carry out international communication and cooperation in tourism, culture, and business on the basis of the rich resources of Beijing Road and Yuexiu district were carried out during the conference.

Yuexiu district has made great achievements in the integrated development of its cultural tourism industry since 2016 when it signed a strategic cooperation partnership with the World Center of Excellence for Destinations.

Beijing Road has been the central axis of Guangzhou for more than 2,200 years and is one of the earliest commercial pedestrian streets in China. It has been listed among China's first batch of pedestrian streets for transformation and upgrading, being the only one in the South China region.

Observation points for the integrated development of tourism, culture, and business will be set up on Beijing Road to carry out series activities to boost international exchanges and cooperation.

Francois Bedard from the UNWTO said that the cooperation between the UNWTO and Yuexiu district is expected to increase the international influence of the district, as well as the integrated development of tourism, culture, and business on Beijing Road.
