Update: 2020-11-06     Source: Newsgd.com

The 10th Guangzhou International Light Festival will lighten up the city from November 18th to November 29th. As one of the three major international light festivals, its influence is increasingly evident. An increasing number of citizens and tourists are attracted to a wide range of creative light works. The cumulative number of visitors has exceeded 63 million over 10 years.

With the theme of "Happy Time, Charming City", the festival will use lights to tell stories about changes of people’s life and development of the city.

33 pieces of artworks will be exhibited in this year’s light festival. "1+3 mode", which means "1" main venue plus “3” branch venues, will be adopted in this year's festival. The main venue will be on the new central axis(Huacheng Square, Haixinsha Asian Games Park) featuring 16 pieces of light works. "3" branch venues include the old central axis (Beijing Road, Haizhu Square), the Parti Cultural Creative Arts Zone, and branch venues alongside the Pearl River (Haizhu Bridge, Haiyin Bridge, Liede Bridge, 24 buildings on the north bank of the Pearl River, Media Harbor). The "1+3 mode" making the exhibition space much more open.

As a new set branch venue, the Parti Cultural Creative Arts Zone will mainly display works in the form of outdoor projections, which are the way some foreign teams that cannot come to the scene work and will be displayed. Large-scale tangible light works this year are mainly created by Chinese core teams.

Due to COVID-19 epidemic control, online modes of Guangzhou International Light Festival will also be held, allowing more audiences to enjoy the activity. To visit the festival online, you need to follow the Wechat official account "Guangzhou International Lighting Festival"(you can search ‘gzlights’) and click on the sub-menu "Watching Lights online" (云看灯光) under the menu "Quick Appointment" to make your appointment through the mini program.
