On December 6th, 18 teams from 36 schools in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to compete and find a champion in this year's recitation contest in the Guangzhou Division.

Organized by the educational departments from Guangdong province, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR, the annual recitation contest aims to enhance cultural exchanges among schools in the Greater Bay Area. After several years of development, the contest has become a key platform for educational cooperation and an important occasion for students from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to enhance a common sense of national identity.

Guangzhou Division of the contest is organized by Guangzhou Educational Bureau and Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, which marks the fourth year. Every year, schools in Guangzhou pair up with those in Hong Kong or Macao SAR and participate in the competition. Team members recite poems or classic essays in Mandarin or Cantonese together. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, paired schools submitted videos for competition.

After the contest, 38 pairs of schools in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao signed to be sister schools. At present, 271 pairs have bonded as sister schools, including kindergartens, primary and middle schools, and secondary vocational schools.
