A delegation of more than 10 overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs from countries including the United States, Canada, the Czech Republic and Cyprus visited Guangzhou's Nansha district on Jan 15, aiming to establish a communication and cooperation platform for Chinese all over the world.
The delegation was invited by the Guangdong Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Guangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
Lu Yixian, Party secretary of Nansha district, first expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their visit to Nansha.
He said that he hopes overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs can continue to support the socio-economic development of Nansha district and invest in the district to grow its cluster of global talents, capital and technologies. Meanwhile, Nansha will continue to offer high-quality and efficient services for those investing in or starting businesses in the district.
The delegation toured several sites in Nansha including Nansha Port, Nansha planning exhibition hall, CloudWalk Technology Co Ltd, the iFLYTEK South China AI Research Institute and the HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute, in order to get a comprehensive understanding of Nansha's current socio-economic development, the effects of the Guangdong (China) Pilot Free Trade Zone, as well as Nansha's achievements in scientific innovation.
Members of the delegation said that the event allowed them to get a closer look at Nansha's achievements and the district's plans, noting that they are willing to carry out more communication with the motherland to seek integrated development.
