Guangzhou furthers ties with Brazil through sister schools

Guangzhou Foreign Language School and Colégio Murakami, a senior high school in Recife of Brazil, officially signed the sister partnership agreement in an online ceremony held recently.

From February 22nd to March 9th, local governments in both Guangzhou and Recife launched an online cultural exchange program for senior high school students, to include a range of topics and subjects such as: cuisine, music, architecture, famous scenic spots in different cities. Students from Guangzhou Foreign Language School and Colégio Murakami also participated in the online event.

That is the first pairing of sister schools between Guangzhou and Brazil, opening a new chapter for young people on the two sides to learn from and communicate with one another. It will also contribute to educational cooperation between Guangzhou and Recife.

Guangzhou formed a sister city relationship with Recife back in 2007. Over the past 14 years, the two cities have worked very closely in terms of cultural exchanges.
