Sharing session featuring GBA stories held in Guangzhou

A sharing session featuring the significant moments that are happening in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at the Lecture Hall of Guangzhou Library on the morning of March 14, 2021. The event selected ten groups of meaningful photos taken in the region in 2020 as the showpieces, and invited the people who took the pictures to tell their stories.

Li Yimin, a doctor from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University shared stories of China's renowned respiratory scientist Zhong Nanshan in the fight against the pandemic via nine photos.

Li Huimin, deputy chief physician of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University, presented a photo of herself in the isolation ward of Hankou Hospital in Wuhan, the most hard-hit city at that time.

Cheung Ming-man, a patriotic singer from Hong Kong SAR, shared his experience of receiving a dose of vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac on February 26 via a selfie he took at that moment. "I am very grateful and proud that my country has done its best to develop effective COVID-19 vaccines, making a great contribution to the world," he said through a video link.

Wu Changhai, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), reviewed GPHL's moves to support the development of roxburgh rose industry in Guizhou province by developing Ciningji, a range of products based on roxburgh rose. In addition to that, GPHL has launched targeted poverty alleviation in Jingkou, Wanxi and Yuanling villages in Meizhou, and set up one billion RMB fund to boost the development of rural areas over the next five years.

Meanwhile, a photographic exhibition highlighting the Chinese New Year in 2021 also kicked off at the sharing session. The exhibition showcases 40 works and will last through to March 24.
