New Zealand buyers explore opportunities in China via Canton Fair
Update: 2021-04-02     Source: Newsgd.com

The 129th Canton Fair, which will be held online from April 15-24, 2021, hosted its first "Promotion on Cloud" event for New Zealand businesses on March 30.

China is New Zealand's largest trading partner, largest export market, and most significant import source. New Zealand is also an essential source of buyers at the Canton Fair, with more than 800 buyers participating in each session. The event attracted more than 80 registered buyers from Auckland, Wellington, and other major cities.

"Although the epidemic has caused a certain impact on trade between the two countries, the bilateral trade between China and New Zealand remained relatively stable in 2020." Huang Yuefeng, the Economic and Trade Department of the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand, said that since the outbreak of the epidemic, both China and New Zealand had taken strong measures to deal with it and the epidemic situation in the two countries is generally stable.

New Zealand China Trade Association Chairman Martin Thompson said online promotions had been welcomed by New Zealand enterprises and mainstream media's attention. New Zealand's business community favors Chinese-made products with high quality and reasonable prices and looks forward to resuming offline business exchanges as soon as possible after the epidemic.

Salisbury, a New Zealand buyer, recalled his experience and harvest of participating in the Canton Fair. He said that China's manufacturing industry is well developed, the exhibition hall of the Canton Fair is magnificent, and the variety of exhibits is overwhelming. By sharing his experience at the Canton Fair, he strongly suggested New Zealand business people actively grasp China's substantial business opportunities.
