In Guangzhou, the last six local confirmed patients were discharged from hospital on the morning of July 8, marking the clearance of all the local confirmed cases reported from the recent outbreak that started in May.

As of today, Guangzhou has reported no new local cases for 19 consecutive days. All of the 153 local confirmed patients received treatment at the Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.
As there was a larger number of elderly patients with chronic diseases in this outbreak, the hospital saw as many as 10 critically-ill patients at its peak. By June 27, patients including critically-ill patients in the latest outbreak had recovered. On July 8, all patients recovered in Guangzhou. No infected patients died in Guangzhou's latest wave.
