Fed up with summer heat and fatigue from work? A batch of newly opened parks in Guangzhou are to soothe your body and soul. Just have a look!

Baijiang Lake Forest Park

The Baijianghu Lake Forest Park was opened in Zengcheng District on July 31. With trails winding through, the park has 3 best-known scenic spots – Shuiweng (水嗡), Baijiang Lake, and Conghuagu (丛花谷) flowering shrubs.

Strollers can relax on the 4-kilometre Suxi Trail (溯溪步道), while climbing lovers can challenge the steeper Shanding Lüdao (山顶绿道). When you get tired, you can get on a sightseeing bus for rest.

The average temperature in the park is 21.6℃ all year round, with cool breeze blowing gently. Take a trip to verdurous Baijiang Lake Forest Park and bathe yourself in fresh air and chirping birds!

Location:Langba Village, Zhengguo Town, Zengcheng District (增城区正果镇浪拔村), near the Zhengguo Exit of Guangzhou-Heyuan Expressway

Transport:Take Metro Line 21 to get to Zengcheng Square Station, and take Zengcheng Bus 66 to get to the park.

Ticket:Follow the park’s official WeChat Account (广州市白江湖森林公园) to book tickets in advance. Ticket price is ￥10 for adults, ￥5 for children (1.2-1.5m), students (with student cards), and elders (aged 60-65), and free for children (under 1.2m), elders (aged over 65), servicemen, and disabled.

Zhoutouzui Park

The park has been reopened recently after its renovation with the area expanded by 3 times to 40,000㎡. High technologies can be found in the facilities. For example, the benches are equipped with solar panels and can charge your phone. Visitors can also learn martial art under the guide of AI screens. When the night falls, visitors can enjoy beautiful sunset in the park lit up by splendid lights.

Transport:Take Metro Line 8 to get to Tongfuxi Station, or Line 8 or 6 to get to Cultural Park Station.

Modiesha Park

The Modiesha Park has a theme of Party building. Walking on the path that stretched through the park, you can see elements of China’s history and revolutions, such as the red backdrop, sculptures, and the Party flag.

Apart from that, as a park located in the Flower City – Guangzhou, it is full of flowers blooming throughout the year, attracting residents nearby.

Pocket Parks

Pocket parks, also known as mini-parks, are pieces of public space accessible to all. Created on vacant lots of the city, they cover small areas and provide vibrant greenery and resting facilities, adding vigor and energy to urban places. Four newly built pocket parks in Huadu District have caught residents’ interest.

Lily Pocket Park

Located at the Exit C of Huadu Square Station on Metro Line 9, the Lily Pocket Park has become a popular public leisure area with colorful flowers.

Jinjuhua Pocket Park

The park is situated at the north gate of Jinjuhua Residential Quarter on the Yingbin Avenue of Huadu District, covering 4800㎡. Various flowers make it a wonderful little garden in the busy city.

Hebin Pocket Park

This park is built at the intersection of Tiangui Road and Baohua Road of Huadu District with an area of 4200㎡. Flowers, greenery, and specially designed garbage classification stations add to its beauty.

Meiyuan Pocket Park

West to the Huadu District Experimental Middle School, No. 32 of Jianshe Road, is the 750-squaremeter Meiyuan Pocket Park decorated with granite tiles. With a work-out area, it becomes a nice choice in residents’ spare time.
