Greater Bay Area online shopping festival kicks off
Update: 2021-09-03     Source: Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office

The first-ever "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Shopping Festival" kicks off online today.

A whopping 13 million products from 298,000 well-known brands are on offer to those looking for a great deal. Consumers simply need to visit the "Greater Bay Area Shopping Festival" page on participating e-commerce platforms to snap up some great products.

The shopping bonanza, which will last through September 22, is expected to boost sales for brands from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in the lead up to Mid Autumn Festival and the National Day Holiday.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the most open and economically active regions in China. The festival will demonstrate the spirit of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is highly connected, integrated, developing rapidly, and boasts pioneering and innovative energy. The shopping festival also will showcase all of these qualities and more to savvy online shoppers.

The event is guided by the Ministry of Commerce, the provincial government of Guangdong, and the liaison offices of the central government in Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.

The opening ceremony of the festival is held online at 3 pm today (September 2).
