The 2022 Guangzhou Science and Technology Week, an eight-day science popularization event, is underway in the city from May 21 to May 28, featuring over 370 science popularization activities.

Open day

A total of 162 bases for science popularization, institutions of higher educations and units open to the public offline or online on May 21, the opening day of the week. For instance, you can join a lab tour and a seminar at the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases, and attend an online exhibition and a lecture held by the National Supercomputer Centre in Guangzhou.

Science night

On the evening of May 21, the "science night" activities will be carried out in 29 venues across the city, such as Guangzhou Zoo, Haizhu Wetland Park and Shennong Caotang TCM Museum.

Q&A on science in daily life

On May 28, a science popularization event will be held at the China Plaza in Yuexiu District between 2pm and 5pm and open to the public for free. Experts from Guangdong Science Center, Human Science Museum of Southern Medical University, DJI and other high-tech enterprises will answer the public's questions about science in our daily life. There will also be various demonstrations popularizing science.

"Life Science" exploration camp

The Guangdong Science Center is soliciting 40 teenagers aged 10 to 14 to join in a "Life Science" exploration camp on May 28 for free. The camp will be led by Dr. Wu Meng, a science popularization influencer, and explore life science through experiments, watching movies, and touring the science center. Offline carnival

The offline carnival is underway at the main venue of the event, Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center on May 21 and May 22, open to the public for free as well. One of the highlights must be the exhibitions and demonstrations about the achievements of science popularization in Guangzhou, aerospace science and science popularization works such as books, movies and videos. Online carnival

The online carnival is based on the WeChat subscription account "广州科普资源" and its mini program. You can play games, view live streams, have a VR tour, browse science popularization books, and so on. After finishing 6 interaction games, you will also stand a chance to win some nice prizes.
