In the picture: newly bought trains for Line 3
Two trains with three carriages respectively are put together to make one six-carriage train.
On April 28, each Line 3 train will be extended to contain six carriages and its capacity on the average will reach about 1,400 passengers and about 1,800 at rush hours, with an increase of 20%.
18 six-carriage trains (16 of which are obtained by putting together the existing three-carriage trains and two of which are newly bought six-carriage trains) will go into operation by the end of April, and the running interval will be extended from the present two minutes 51 seconds to about four minutes 30 seconds.
The newly purchased trains are equipped with 12 luggage racks and two seats for disabled, with each luggage rack's maximum loading capacity reaching 150 kilograms. The existing regulation that "the luggage's total weight shall not exceed 30 kg and the total size of external length, width and height shall not exceed 1.6 meters" is calling for modification.
