Special care has been taken to ensure a harmony between building enhancement and the surroundings.

Hongde Road is paved with carvings featuring the images of the top 10 sights in Haizhu District.

Binjiang Road pavement is remarked for cyclists and pedestrians.

The Guangzhou integrated environmental enhancement program involves 853 projects in relation to building facade decoration, greening and landscaping, road upgrading and renovation, and nightscape illumination.

The pavement and facilities of 81 thoroughfares in the old districts are upgraded and landscaped, railings and signs on the roads are optimized, dilapidated buildings along the thoroughfares are demolished to make way for trees and flowers, and the exterior walls of the buildings on both sides of the roads are repainted.

The interiors of 74 Asian Games venues are also receiving comprehensive enhancement, and transport facilities, signage, greenery and utility pipelines outside the venues are being improved as well.
