Butong Music Festival in Party Pier

The indoor Butong Music Festival will greet visitors with an eclectic blend of livehouse music show covering jazz, folk music, electronic sound, hip hops and heavy metals presented by young, popular musicians like Liu Limin (刘莉旻), Wang Lixin (王立鑫) and Wan Xiaoli (万晓利).
The three-day carnival also highlights creative markets selling handicrafts, jewelry, paintings and even delicious fruit wine, allowing people to have a taste of local Cantonese culture. A grand nostalgic Disco party late night today is expected to take participants onto a journey back to Hong Kong in the 1980s.

Marvel's Avengers exhibition in Teemall Panyu branch

Teemall's Panyu branch, opening to the public today (December 25), will lure visitors with South China's first exhibition on Marvel's superhero blockbuster Avengers, a series of films enjoying worldwide reputation among movie fans.
The exhibit is marked by a six-meter-tall sculpture of the iconic character, Iron Man, along with other famous characters in the films. Precious manuscript copies of the very first Marvel comics and rare, exquisite cartoon peripheral products will also be displayed to entertain visitors.

Creative markets in Qilou buildings, Yong Qing Fang

Qilou building, or arcade-house, is a distinctive building structure in Guangzhou, blending Chinese and western architectural styles and used for both commercial and residential purposes.
These old buildings in Yong Qing Fang will be lit up in the year-end holiday season by creative markets with over 30 stands, which offer tarot-card workshops, flower arrangement activities, and creative products like do-it-yourself (DIY) handicrafts, clothes and perfume to visitors. Art shows, exhibitions and dance parties are also scheduled to heat up cold winter nights.
Time: December 25, 2020-January 3, 2021

Other shopping malls across the city also offer a slew of excellent cultural activities for weekend outings, such as the China-Japan Culture and Art Festival at Grandview Mall, France-themed cultural festival at K11 Art Mall, and the immersive exhibition of One Piece (海贼王) at Po Park.
