On the morning of February 10, renowned Chinese sculptor Xu Hongfei launched the 42nd stop of his sculpture exhibition world tour in Guangzhou.

Entitled "Ox Hardworking for Happy New Journey", this exhibition features 15 large sculptures created by Xu Hongfei, including several new works and some of his classic works such as chubby women sculptures.

One of the sculptures on display, "Kiss" is also the trophy of China's Happiest City Selection and has appeared in 41 exhibitions in 37 cities in more than 20 countries around the world.

The exhibition also highlights a series of works that reflect the theme of an endeavor to build a moderately prosperous society in all aspects in 2020. For example, "Lao Ying Zhuo Xiao Ji" (The Eagle Catches the Chicks) depicts a group of happy "chubby girls" playing childhood games, and "Dongxiang Female Embroiders" shows the daily life of Dongxiang embroidery inheritors.

Xu Hongfei's Fu Niu Fen Fa (Ox's hardworking), created specifically for the Chinese New Year of the Ox in 2021, is also featured in the exhibition. The work portrays the moment of a calm and relaxed ox gazing into the distance, expressing the people's longing for the traditional Chinese New Year and their desire for a better life.

As a part of Xu Hongfei's CNY series activities, this exhibition is held in conjunction with the 41st stop of the World Tour in Spain's Salamanca, the 9th stop of A Hundred Villages Exhibition in Guangzhou's Yangji Village, and the 11th stop of A Hundred Villages Exhibition in Yangdong Da'ao Fishing Village in Yangjiang. All these exhibitions aim to create a joyful and peaceful, festive and auspicious vibe for people.

This exhibition at Huacheng Square is curated by Wu Bin and will run until 28th, February.
