Coordinated by the French Embassy in China, the Croisements Festival will welcome its 10th anniversary with more than 100 programs and 400 events organized over three months in more than 30 cities throughout China.

ShareThis year's Croisements Festival will take the public on a voyage of discovery from April 10 through July 10 to engage in new, surprising, popular and prestigious projects. Coordinated by the French Embassy in China, the festival will welcome its 10th anniversary with more than 100 programs and 400 events organized over three months in more than 30 cities throughout China.

Croisements is a festival of exceptional diversity: from film retrospectives and exhibitions to concerts and performances, the festival shows off the best of Franco-Chinese cultural relations. This year, for its 10th anniversary, the festival is structured upon 10 disciplines: visual art; architecture and design; new media; classical and contemporary music; jazz and modern music; dance; theater, contemporary circus and street art; cinema; literature and young audiences.

To help blow out the festival's 10 candles and to celebrate an exceptional program, Croisements is very please to enlist the support of 10 key figures from the Chinese cultural world, who will share with the public their three favorite events in the festival. These include the pianist Lang Lang (classical and contemporary music), film director Feng Xiaogang (cinema), theater director Meng Jinghui (theatre and contemporary circus), music professional Shen Lihui (jazz and music of today), the painter Zeng Fanzhi (visual arts), choreographer Jin Xing (dance), stylist and designer Jiang Qiong Er (architecture and design), writer Jiang Fangzhou (literature), videographer Zhang Peili (new media), and magician Yif (young audience)

In South China, there will be around 30 performances in five cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shunde and Xiamen.

Véronique Gens is among the most famous sopranos on the world stage today. Invited by the China Philharmonic and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, she will perform a rarely heard program: La Mort de Cléopatre by Berlioz and Turandot Suite, Op. 41. These two works will be presented for the first time in China with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra as well as with the harp soloist, Xavier de Maistre and the Poly Theatre Philharmonic Orchestra of Beijing.
