Art exhibition marking centenary of CPC underway in Guangzhou

Showcasing 200 pieces of excellent and representative art works from seven art institutions in Guangzhou, an art exhibition celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party of China is currently underway at the Guangzhou Museum of Art.

The exhibition covers a variety of art works, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, watercolors, lacquer paintings as well as sculptures, demonstrating the CPC's achievements and how the Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, have carried out revolution, construction and reform over the past 100 years.

Some of the classic exhibits include Guangdong artist Lei Tan's oil painting featuring the Battle of Luding Bridge which is widely known for being included in Chinese textbooks for primary school, and an oil painting created by artist Li Jieping, which is a portrait of China’s top epidemiologist Zhong Nanshan during the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020.

How to attend:

If you have an ID card, you can make an appointment through the museum's WeChat official account “广州艺术博物院gzam (pinyin: guang zhou yi shu bo wu yuan gzam)” three days in advance. Alternatively, if you have a passport, you can make a phone call to the museum ahead of time, and then register on site for visit.

Guangzhou Museum of Art is located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain, nearby Luhu Lake, covering an area of 20,300 squares meters. It is one of several large-scale art museums in South China, which integrates a series of functions such as collection, research, exhibition, education and leisure. Since 2015, it has been renowned as one of the National Key Art Museum.
