Here you can find out all regulations relating to entry and exit, including information on the types of visas classified by purpose of visit, requirements of entry and exit inspection and quarantine, and procedures for taking up residence or employment in China. You can also have a full list of articles restricted in or banned for entry and exit.

1. Foreign nationals who are seeking accommodation at hotels should present their original identity papers to the hotel staff and complete the temporary accommodation formalities.

2. Foreign nationals who are visiting their friends or relatives at hotels should complete visitor's formalities as required.

3. Use of drugs, prostitution, patronizing a prostitute and fighting are criminal offenses under the Chinese law.

Emergency Assistance

A foreign national caught in a traffic accident or emergency should immediately call the following numbers. The police and the emergency assistance center are able to respond to calls in English:

Police: 110
Fire: 119
Ambulance: 120
Road accident: 122

Police stations and neighborhood posts can be found in all streets and at busy crossroads in Guangzhou. Police stations are open and police vehicles patrol the streets 24 hours a day, promptly responding to citizens' requests for assistance and dispatching officers as instructed by the 110 Emergency Number center.

Entry and Exit Administration Office of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau handles visa and residence applications by foreign nationals who hold valid identification papers (passports and other travel documents).

Traffic: Take Bus  5, 14, 29, 64, 86, 87, 88, 113, 180, 190,191, 243, 244A, 244B, 244, 250, 253, 273, 519;  Take the metro line 2 and get off at Haizhu Square Station; or take the line1 and get off at Gongyuanqian Station.

Please note that it takes five workdays to process, approve and issue visas and other travel documents
