Located in the prosperous commercial district at the bank of the Pearl River, the Cultural Park (or Wenhua Park), with an area of 83,000 square meters, is a public place of culture and entertainment integrating exhibition, sports and exercise, landscaping, and recreation. Every year, more than ten million tourists visit this park. The joyous atmosphere greets its climax during the annual mid-autumn chrysanthemum fair and the spring festival lantern fair when fireworks are set off and flowers vie for attracting people's eyes.

Spring Festival Flower Fair

"Spring Festival Flower Fair" has come into being since the lunar new year of 1957. During the Spring Festival Fair, the Cultural Park is decorated as a joyous sea of blooming flowers. As the grand final of the "Spring Festival Flower Fair", the "Lantern Show of Lantern Festival" pushes the jubilant atmosphere of spring festival to a new high. At present, "Spring Festival Flower Fair" has become the extension of the flower fair on New Year's Eve and a good place for Cantonese to spend a happy Spring Festival, to appreciate spring scenery, and to experience traditional Chinese New Year atmosphere. 

Autumn Chrysanthemums Fair

"Guangzhou Chrysanthemums Fair" dates from 1953 and is held in the middle of every November, known as the only large chrysanthemums exhibition in Guangzhou that has long years' standing. Guangzhou Chrysanthemums Fair is designated to promote Lingnan's age-old and profound chrysanthemum cultural tradition, and to inherit the artistry of chrysanthemum cultivation. For many years, the Fair are very poplar among Cantonese.
