Located in the financial center of Guangzhou, Tianhe Sports Center is the largest stadium in Guangzhou. It consists of the Tianhe Stadium, Tianhe Gymnasium and Tianhe Natatorium. After the 6th National Games (1987), the sports center was perfected by adding new venues and stadiums including baseball field, tennis court, bowling venue, croquet field, indoor kart field, outdoor swimming pool and gym.

It first opened to the public in 1995. The first bodybuilding path was built in the center, and bush dancing field, outdoor badminton court, pingpong venue, children's playground, bodybuilding community and basketball club were added. The center, with a beautiful green environment full of subtropical characteristics and magnificent venues, became a landscape style sports park. The sports center is a multi-functional complex of bodybuilding, recreation, leisure and exhibition with the capacity of holding various sports competitions, public sports events and all kinds of large-scale exhibitions.

In the center, the local residents can play bowling, pingpong, billiards, football, golf, basketball, badminton, volleyball, tennis, baseball and softball and take exercises such as bodybuilding, dancing, rock climbing, swimming, wushu, Thai boxing, judo, taekwondo and sanda.
