Dragon Gulf Club is the competition venue of golf event in the 16th Asian Games. Located in Huadong Town in Huadu District, Dragon Lake Holiday Resort enjoys a superior natural and ecological environment back-dropped by a lush mountain range, that stretches tens of kilometers and surrounded by the Dragon Lake. The whole resort covers an area of more than 20, 000 mu mountains and 4,500 mu water. The moderate climate with average temperature 3 to 5 centigrade degrees lower than that of urban district in Guangzhou and the sufficient sunshine in the resort won it the honor of National 4A Scenic Spot in 2010.
The club has established and opened the 27-hole golf course with the total area of more than 2,600 mu including a 18-hole international tournament standard course and 9-hole light course. The whole course is designed based on the natural valley terrain which features "a half lake view and the other mountain view".
