The 11th Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference China is scheduled to be held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center from June 26 to 27. This year's event continues the theme "Investing in Guangzhou is investing in the Future," attracting over 800 guests and aiming to engage global investors in sharing the city's policy benefits and industrial opportunities.
Record participation and global attention
This year's event has garnered significant attention from the business, technology, and investment communities. By June 16, over 800 guests had registered, including executives from Fortune 500 companies, central state-owned enterprises, and firms in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and the low-carbon economy.
The event will feature five main activities: a thematic conference, closed-door meetings, industrial development promotions, the Guangzhou Night gala, and industrial site visits.
Since its inception ten years ago, the Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference China has become a vital link between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the world, serving as a platform for global investors to exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and drive regional economic growth.
This year's Investment Conference will showcase Guangzhou's new industrial vision through promotions by key industrial offices and thematic site visits to major industrial platforms. The 15th National Games city partnership showcase will also be introduced.
The event will be held in a hybrid online-offline format, with live broadcasts and replays for global audiences, ensuring that the highlights and opportunities of the Investment Conference are accessible to all.
Highlights of the conference
One major highlight is the innovation of the government-enterprise dialogue platform. The traditional one-on-one meetings with municipal leaders will be replaced by in-depth closed-door discussions with heads of around 30 key enterprises.
The Guangzhou Night gala will further facilitate open government-enterprise interactions.
This year's event will bring together representatives from multinational corporations, central enterprises, and emerging firms. They will discuss global economic trends and explore new paths in emerging fields like artificial intelligence and green energy.
Guangzhou's economic growth and investment appeal
Guangzhou is committed to reform and opening up, prioritizing industrial development and manufacturing. The city actively plans for increased investment in existing projects, new recruitment, and technology transfer, which has accelerated the introduction of landmark industrial projects and platform enterprises, fostering new momentum for high-quality development.
From January to April 2025, Guangzhou introduced 625 new industrial projects with a total investment of RMB 161.5 billion, among which 70 projects boast investments or revenues exceeding RMB 10 billion. Over 50% of the investment went to manufacturing projects. The city also ranked first in the province for domestic investment and saw a 14.9% increase in newly-established foreign-funded enterprises, with actual foreign investment reaching RMB 11.54 billion.
