Guangzhou’s Nansha has set a GDP growth target of 10% in 2023, according to Wu Yang, Executive Chief of Nansha District, when delivering the government work report on the Fourth Session of the 4th Nansha District People's Congress on February 8.

In 2022, Nansha's GDP reached 225.258 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, ranking first in Guangzhou. The total output value of agriculture hit 12.632 billion RMB and the output value of industries above the designated size was 380.549 billion RMB, ranking second in the city, with an increase of 6.1%.

The total import and export volume was 298.819 billion RMB, with an increase of 15.1%. And the district's actual utilization of foreign capital which was 17.28 billion RMB, increased by 72.7%.

In 2023, the district's fixed-asset investment is expected to increase by 30% and industries above the designated size by 16%, the government work report also said. The district's container throughput is expected to reach 19 million TEUs.
