The “Understanding China·Greater Bay Area Dialogue” will be held in Guangzhou, south China’s Guangdong province, from April 18 to 20, with the theme of Chinese Modernization and New Opportunities for the World, according to a press conference on April 15.

The event includes an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, 10 parallel forums, four closed-door seminars, and three special sessions, where global dignitaries, experts, and entrepreneurs will have dialogues with their Chinese counterparts, and exchange ideas about Chinese modernization, high-quality development, high-standard opening-up, Chinese democracy, the development trend of global bay areas, China-Europe relations, China-US ties, and their influence on the world.

The forum will gather global dignitaries such as Yves Leterme, former Belgian Prime Minister; Ivan Ivanovich Melnikov, Russia’s First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister, as well as representatives from international organizations and multinational corporations.

The event is the first thematic forum of the Understanding China Conference, which is co-organized by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and the Foundation Prospective and Innovation. It is supported by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality.
