On May 16, China Southern Air Logistics International Cargo Terminal was officially put into operation.

After the opening, it will provide customized warehousing and loading services according to clients’ specific shipping plans.

As the first international cargo terminal transformed from a domestic one, it will better facilitate the export of goods from Guangzhou as well as provide comprehensive and quality services for cross-border e-commerce businesses in the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In order to meet the surging demand for cross-border e-commerce cargo transportation and storage, China Southern Air Logistics has also worked with Baiyun Airport Customs House and other authorities to optimize the Terminal’s resource layout.

Giving full play to the network resources, China Southern Air Logistics has also made coordinated efforts in terms of air cargo, modern warehousing, supply chain and e-commerce trade. In 2022, it helped export more than 110,000 tons of e-commerce goods from Guangzhou, with a year-on-year growth of 11 percent.

In recent years, with the development of international trade, consumption upgrading, and the change in consumer habits, the cross-border e-commerce industry has been thriving.

According to the latest data from China Customs, the import and export volume of China’s cross-border e-commerce grew from 1 trillion RMB in 2018 to 2.11 trillion RMB in 2022.

As well as this, Baiyun Airport Customs House launched a public information platform for air logistics in Guangzhou, facilitating the data exchange between the China Southern Air Logistics International Cargo Terminal and the port supervision departments.

“The allocation, inspection, return and label changing of the export cargo can all be carried out online through this information platform, and owners can also trace their goods on it.” said the Customs House’s authorities.
