The Pazhou Digital Technology Industrial Park, built for video game companies, has opened in Haizhu recently.

The park site was previously occupied by the Zhujiang Pharmaceutical Factory. The new facility covers an area of 42 mu (2.8 hectares), with a total construction area of more than 28,000 square meters. It consists of 20 detached buildings which cover between 300 to 8,000 square meters.
There are 35 small and medium-sized enterprises in the park, including 11 technology enterprises and 13 cultural enterprises, with technology and cultural tourism enterprises accounting for 68.6 percent of the resident enterprises.
Guangdong's gaming industry is developing rapidly. Its online video games revenue grew from 164.9 billion yuan (US$ 22.8 billion) in 2018 to 211.57 billion yuan in 2022, accounting for 79.6 percent of the national market share. And the industry's scale ranks first in the country.
Currently, Guangdong is home to more than 10,000 game enterprises, accounting for 32.35 percent of the total in the country.
