The Parallel Session of Liwan District of the tenth Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference China and Peking University Entrepreneurship Forum kicked off on April 9th at the Guangzhou White Swan Hotel.

During the conference, Liwan District signed contracts for twelve major industrial projects with a combined annual output value exceeding 52 billion yuan. These projects cover various industries including new commerce, biomedicine and health, laser and additive manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, information technology, energy conservation, and environmental protection.

With the theme of "Invest in Vibrant Liwan, Achieve a Successful Future," the conference focused on developing new quality productive forces, and attracted numerous industry leaders. More than 300 business guests, representatives, experts, and scholars from various fields attended the conference, marking a record in the number of participants.

In 2023, Liwan achieved a regional GDP of 127.793 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 4.8 percent, ranking fifth in the city in terms of growth rate for three consecutive years, consistently higher than the average level of Guangzhou. Various key indicators of Liwan District rank among the top in the city.

Currently, Liwan District has a total of 202 carriers covering an area of 5.7 million square meters, providing abundant industrial space for project landing. Liwan District has launched a three-year action plan for industrial carrier construction.

Building on existing facilities such as Liby Center, Heye Plaza, Ximenkou Plaza, and Lisheng Plaza, as well as industrial parks like Guangzhou International Medicine Port, Lingnan V Valley, 1906 Science and Technology Park, Pearl River Piano Dream Park, and Libai Technology Park, Liwan aims to complete the construction of 39 carriers covering an area of 1.7 million square meters by 2024.

Over the next three years, the district plans to build industrial carriers totaling six million square meters, including two million square meters of standard industrial plants, two million square meters of commercial office space, one million square meters of high-end commercial carriers, and one million square meters of old property renovation, providing broad space for industrial development.

Among them, the Hailongwei Science and Innovation Zone located at the border of Guangzhou and Foshan has started construction of the first phase of 180,000 square meters of standard industrial plants in the industrial park.

As a demonstration project for accelerating modern urban industrialization in Liwan, the project covers a total area of 38,900 square meters and is invested and constructed by Guangzhou Liwan Development Group, a district-owned enterprise, aiming to become an important base for cultivating new quality productive forces.

The Nanya Modern Industrial Park has a planned land area of approximately 17,700 square meters and a total construction area of about 85,000 square meters. It aims to create a demonstration project of "industrial upgrading" in Liwan District, focusing on industries such as industrial smart sorting, biomedical research and development, and industrial intelligent manufacturing.

Liwan's old city area has a renewal and transformation area of three million square meters, promoting the transformation of 10 old properties including Guangzhou Power Plant. In 2024, Liwan District aims to sign 200 projects with a total investment of 20 billion yuan and an operating income of 50 billion yuan for the whole year.
