Electricity supply highlighted at Huangpu’s Q1 project groundbreaking ceremony

The signing and groundbreaking ceremony of major projects in the first quarter of 2022 was held in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District on February 8.

This event saw 49 projects signed, 48 industrial projects and 12 power infrastructure projects started, involving planned total investment of around 120.3 billion RMB as well as the expected output value and operating income of about 234.9 billion RMB.

These 109 projects cover fields including new generation information technology, intelligent equipment, biomedicine, new energy and new materials, artificial intelligence and digital economy, modern service industry, modern agriculture as well as power facilities among others.

Huangpu to guarantee power supply and better business environment

The Government of Huangpu District, Management Committee of Guangzhou Development District and Guangzhou Power Supply Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Southern Power Grid, jointly signed Cooperation Agreement on Ensuring the Development of the Real Economy with Sufficient Power Supply to improve electricity power environment for enterprises.

At this event, 12 power supporting projects officially started construction and 2.1 billion RMB was invested to better power supply and lower electricity cost for industrial parks and business areas in the District.

Guangzhou Power Supply Co., Ltd. also plans to build 20 substations of 110 kV and above to ensure the average outage time of users in the district less than 20 minutes per year by 2025.

A transformation from Made in Huangpu to Created in Huangpu

Projects related to technology and innovation take a large proportion in the ceremony, illustrating a further promotion on creativity in the district.

Many of these projects are presided by scientists. Led by Dr. Zhu Wenhui, a high-profile scientist in China, the high-end chip packaging and testing project of AMQ Intelligent Technology Ltd. will base its packaging and testing headquarters in the Greater Bay Area.

According to the Huangpu District’s government, the groundbreaking of these projects is in line with the central government’s emphasis on steady development and its efforts in pushing forward the progress of major industrial projects. The district is striving to be a core engine to drive the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and inject new vitality into the traditional Guangzhou city.
