The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area High-Performance Medical Device Innovation Center will open this June in Guangzhou's Huangpu district, aiming to agglomerate innovative resources and elements.
It will establish a public platform for industrial innovation, increase independent research and development capacity, as well as bolster the industrialization level of sophisticated medical devices to meet the huge domestic demand.
A talent team featuring international innovative talents in sectors like R&D, clinics, quality control, and marketing will be available at the center to provide precise and multiple services for innovative entities, as well as to help the development of innovative projects and teams managing medical devices.

The center will focus on six fields, including brain sciences, cardiovascular and peripheral vascular systems, as well as biological materials. In addition, technical platforms regarding implantation and active technology have been built, with several others regarding electrophysiology, medical imaging, and smart medical equipment are also planned.
A staff member of the center noted that the scientific research, as well as the innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere of Guangzhou International Bio Island is very strong, with the island already clustering more than 500 biomedical companies, scientific research institutions, and R&D platforms.
