By 2025, the phase III expansion project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will be completed.
Currently, Terminal 3 (T3) is in the final stage of construction for the main building. Additionally, the West 4 corridor of T2 was completed on October 28, while the East 4 corridor of T2 is currently making steady progress with interior decoration and other final tasks.
Apart from the new T3, the phase III expansion project also includes the construction of two runways, a comprehensive transportation center, and the East 4 and West 4 corridors of T2.
Upon completion, the Airport will have five runways and be connected with six high-speed railways (Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao High-speed Railway, Guangzhou-Heyuan High-speed Railway, Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway, Guangning Rail Link of Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, Guangzhou-Qingyuan-Yongzhou High-Speed Railway, and the Second Guangzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway), three intercity railways (Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway (Xintang-Baiyun Airport-Guangzhou North Railway Station section), Fangcun-Baiyun Airport Intercity Railway, and Guangzhou East Railway Station-Huadu Tiangui Intercity Railway), one metro line (Metro Line 3) and two expressways (Guangzhou Airport Expressway and the Second Airport Expressway).
By then, the annual passenger throughput of Baiyun Airport will reach 120 million people, with a cargo throughput capacity of 3.8 million tons.
