The construction of the main structure of Lingnan Square Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 12 has recently been completed. Meanwhile, the shield tunnel from Lingnan Square to Chigang section has also been double-line drilled through.

With this milestone, all shield tunnels from Lingnan Square to the Higher Education Mega Center South Station along Line 12 have been connected, and all stations have been fully capped.

As of now, the construction of Line 12 (Xunfenggang - Higher Education Mega Center South) has reached 79% completion. Among the 25 stations, 20 have had their main structures capped, while 5 stations are under construction. Out of the 24 sections, 18 are now interconnected, 5 are under construction, and 1 is undergoing preparations for construction. Currently, 11 shield machines are in operation. The construction of the metro vehicle depot, stabling yard, entry and exit lines has mostly been completed, with electromechanical work commencing at 15 stations along the entire line.

Located in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou, Lingnan Square Station is adjacent to Canton Tower and has an east-west layout along Yizhou Road. The total construction area of the station is approximately 64,234 square meters, making it the largest station on Line 12.
