GZ reports a total of 23 cases in the wave +newest travel notice

Guangdong yesterday (April 9) reported 10 newly locally transmitted cases (including 1 converted from asymptomatic infection), all were in Guangzhou. There were also 13 local asymptomatic infections, among which 1 was in Guangzhou, 4 in Shenzhen and 8 in Foshan.

Starting from midnight of April 11, residents shall not leave Guangzhou unless it is necessary. If you do need to leave the city, a 48-hour nucleic acid negative certificate is required, according to the press conference on Guangzhou's fight against COVID-19 held in the afternoon (April 10).

Guangzhou reports a total of 23 COVID-19 infections as of today

A new local wave has occurred in Guangzhou since April 8. As of 14:00 today, Guangzhou had reported a total of 23 COVID-19 infections in this wave, including 19 cases in Baiyun District, 2 cases in Yuexiu District, 1 case in Haizhu District, and 1 case in Tianhe District. Among them, 4 cases were detected via screening of close contacts, 17 cases during the screening of key populations, and 2 cases in fever clinics.

The cases are mainly concentrated in Tangjing Street, Xinshi Street, Sanyuanli Street, Songzhou Street (白云区棠景街、新市街、三元里街、松洲街) of Baiyun District. All of them are currently receiving isolation treatment in the designated hospital, and they are in a stable condition.

According to the Municipal Health Commission of Guangzhou, most of the secondary infections come from the medium-risk area (Hongyinghui building, No. 1008, Sanyuanli Dadao, Baiyun District) and areas under COVID-19 control in Baiyun District. They have mainly been detected among screening of close contacts, sub-close contacts or key populations. It demonstrates the clusters are occurring in some workplaces and within the family.

Starting from this afternoon, a new round of nucleic acid screening has been carried out in Baiyun, Haizhu, Panyu and Yuexiu Districts.

“The transmission chain is basically clear, and we are confident of being able to control the epidemic as soon as possible. However, the cases that were successively reported remind us that,the possibility of hidden transmission in the community cannot be ruled out,” said Chen Bin, Deputy Director of  the Municipal Health Commission of Guangzhou.

From April 11 to 17, Guangzhou’s primary and secondary schools (except for high school seniors with accommodation and close-off management) will suspend offline teaching and transfer to online teaching.

Wu Linbo, Deputy Secretary-General of Guangzhou Municipal Government, said that Guangzhou is making great efforts to ensure in the preparation and delivery of emergency materials. He added, “Now, in the areas under COVID-19 control, there are 34 e-commerce platform warehouses with 306 tons of materials provided by 52 key enterprises, and 734.9 tons of material reserves. Moreover, the city designates special staff to be responsible for the delivery of supplies.”

Guangzhou also focuses on caring for special groups by comprehensively finding out the basic needs of special groups and providing services for them, for example, people in need of dialysis, pregnant women, the disabled, the elderly living alone, and patients with chronic diseases in the areas under COVID-19 control.

Recently, according to the relevant requirements of national epidemic prevention and control, each province should prepare 2 or 3 makeshift hospitals. Now, Guangzhou is pushing forward the construction of a makeshift hospital at the Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Center.

More about Guangzhous new local cases reported on April 9

Guangzhou on April 9 reported 10 new locally transmitted cases (including 1 converted from asymptomatic infection) and 1 asymptomatic infection. The details are as follows:

The locally transmitted case 1(converted from asymptomatic infection) is a 30 year-old male living in Longpan garden, Tianhe District (天河区龙蟠花园). On April 4, he took flight CA4333 from outside the province and arrived in Guangzhou on the same day. On April 6, another province informed that the individual was a close contact of local cases. The man was transferred to the hotel for centralized isolation. His virus testing was positive during quarantine, and was confirmed by the CDC. On April 8, he was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case, and yesterday converted into a locally transmitted case (mild type).

Case 2:Female, 32 years old, living on Gangbei Road, Tangjing Street, Baiyun District (白云区棠景街道岗贝路), was detected during screening of the areas under COVID-19 control.

Case 3:Male, 23 years old, living in Huangshagang 6th Lane, Xinshi Street, Baiyun District (白云区新市街道黄沙岗六巷), was detected during screening of the areas under COVID-19 control.

Case 4:Male, 43 years old, living in Yunyuan Building, Tangqi Street, Tangjing Street, Baiyun District (云区棠景街道棠祺街云苑大厦), was detected during screening of the areas under COVID-19 control.

Case 5:Female, 36 years old, living in Xinzhuang Shangjie 3rdLane, Shijing Street, Baiyun District (白云区石井街道新庄上街三巷), was detected during screening of at-risk populations.

Case 6:Female, 45 years old, living in Jiangxia Northeast Street, Huangshi Street, Baiyun District (白云区黄石街道江夏东北街), was detected during screening of at-risk populations.

Case 7:Female, 38 years old, living in Cangqian Zhijie, Zhuguang Street, Yuexiu District (越秀区珠光街道仓前直街), was identified during screening of at-risk populations.

Case 8:Female, 54 years old, living in Tangchong Xiyue 2nd Lane, Xinshi Street, Baiyun District (白云区新市街道棠涌西约二巷), was detected during screening of patients in the fever clinic.

Case 9:Male, 41 years old, living in Yuancun Erheng Road, Yuancun Street, Tianhe District (天河区员村街员村二横路), was detected during screening of patients in the fever clinic.

Case 10:Female, 35 years old, living in Huaiyuan Back Street, Jiangnan Zhong Street, Haizhu District (海珠区江南中街道怀远后街), was detected during screening of close contact’s quarantine.

The new local asymptomatic case is a 44 year-old male living in the Xijie 5th Lane, Julong Village, Songzhou Street, Baiyun District (白云区松洲街道聚龙村西街五巷), was detected during screening of at-risk populations.

Yuexiu District reported 2 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases (mild type)classifies different zones to prevent and control the epidemic from further spreading

Yuexiu District yesterday detects 2 new COVID-19 positive cases.

Case 1: Female, 38 years old, a close contact of a previously reported case in Baiyun District, works in Baiyun District, lives in Zhuguang Street in Yuexiu District (越秀区珠光街).

Case 2: Female, 28 years old, was detected among mass nucleic acid test screening in the key areas of Kuangquan Street (矿泉街), works in Baiyun District, lives in Kuangquan Street in Yuexiu District.

On April 10, Guangzhou's Yuexiu District announced that some areas have been classified into three different zones to prevent and control the epidemic from further spreading.

Shenzhen reports 4 asymptomaticcases

On April 9, Shenzhen reported 4 asymptomatic cases, detected during community screening.

Case 1: Male, 39 years old, living in Haikuo Tiankong Yaju, Yuehai street, Nanshan District (南山区粤海街道海阔天空雅居), was detected among close contacts under quarantine.

Case 2: Female, 39 years old, living in Haikuo Tiankong Yaju, Yuehai street, Nanshan District (南山区粤海街道海阔天空雅居), was detected among close contacts under quarantine.

Case 3:Female, 12 years old, living in Haikuo Tiankong Yaju, Yuehai street, Nanshan District (南山区粤海街道海阔天空雅居), was detected among close contacts under quarantine.

Case 4: Female, 31 years old, living in Lugang International, Yantian Street, Yantian District (盐田区盐田街道麓港国际), was detected in community screening.

The above cases have been transferred to the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen for isolation treatment and was diagnosed as a mild case, now in a stable condition.

Foshan reports 8 asymptomatic cases, mass virus testing conducted in Chancheng District

Foshan yesterday reports 8 asymptomatic infections. They were all key personnel associated with a COVID-19 positive truck driver, who came from outside Guangdong province. So far, a total of 19 positive cases have been reported in this wave, all in the same transmission chain.
