Update: 2025-05-30     Source: GDToday

An exchange conference on trade promotion and supply chain cooperation between Guangdong and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is set to be held in Guangzhou on June 10, according to a press conference held on May 29 by the Information Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province.

With an expected total of around 600 participants, it stands as one of the highest-level international conferences on Guangdong-ASEAN cooperation in recent years.

Yao Xinmin, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee, pointed out that the conference aims to establish a multi-level platform for docking and dialogue.

The event will feature a main theme conference, an international supply chain cooperation dialogue, and two parallel sessions on China (Guangdong)-Indonesia economic and trade exchanges and China (Guangdong)-ASEAN cross-border e-commerce cooperation exchanges.

Focusing on key topics such as cooperation mechanism construction, supply chain collaboration, trade and investment opportunities, and cross-border e-commerce cooperation, the conference will invite government officials, experts, scholars, and business representatives from relevant fields to deliver keynote speeches and engage in thematic dialogues.

Yao mentioned that the conference will also release relevant achievements in the construction of economic and trade cooperation mechanisms between Guangdong and ASEAN. At the industrial and commercial cooperation level, the CCPIT Guangdong Committee will sign cooperation memoranda with business institutions from ASEAN countries and unveil the China-ASEAN Business Council local liaison (Guangdong) office.

Moreover, to promote upstream and downstream cooperation in industrial and supply chains, the exchange conference will announce the establishment of supply chain cooperation alliances in five areas. Aligned with the key cooperation fields between Guangdong and ASEAN, these alliances will focus on advanced manufacturing, green agriculture, and the international trade chain, achieving precise docking through industry segmentation.

The conference will also launch the China (Guangdong)-ASEAN cross-border e-commerce strategic cooperation action. This initiative, focusing on multiple fields such as the digital economy, cross-border e-commerce platforms, logistics, and supply chains, will see Guangdong collaborate with chambers of commerce in Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and other countries and regions to build a two-way open and collaboratively innovative cross-border cooperation ecosystem and jointly tackle challenges in the global e-commerce market.

The Guangdong-ASEAN Enterprise International Supply Chain Cooperation Alliance will be established for the first time. Regarding research reports, the current situation of supply chain cooperation between Guangdong and ASEAN will be released.
