Guangzhou's 2026 Spring Festival flower markets guide

Guangzhou is preparing for its 2026 Spring Festival flower markets, a key traditional event celebrating the Chinese New Year. The city will host 11 major flower markets with a total of 2,655 stalls, which is 7.7% more than last year, offering more space for vendors of festive flowers and holiday goods.

The markets will be open for varying durations, from 3 to 6 days, starting on February 10 and running until the early hours of February 17. Among them, the traditional flower markets in the Nansha and Zengcheng districts will operate for 6 days.

A notable new feature this year is a 13-day waterfront flower market in Haizhu District at Canton Tower Square. It will run from February 4 to 16, giving visitors ample time to enjoy the displays.

Below is a practical guide to the flower markets across the city's districts, with key details to help you plan your visit.

1. Yuexiu District

• Time: Feb 13 (8:30) – Feb 17 (the next day 2:00) | 4 days

• Location: Xihu Road & Jiaoyu Road

• Highlights: This is Guangzhou's most representative traditional flower market, known as the "century-old flower market," reflecting the city's cultural heritage.  

2. Haizhu District

• Binjiang Flower Market

◦ Time: Feb 14 (8:30) – Feb 17 (the next day 2:00) | 3 days

◦ Location: Binjiang West Road & Baogang Avenue

◦ Highlights: The only flower market located right along the Pearl River, offering views of flowers and the river.

• Jiangnanxi Spring Flower Street

◦ Time: Feb 6 – Feb 14 | 9 days

◦ Location: Jiangnanxi Road (Bishuiyaoxi area)

◦ Highlights: Revives the historical spirit of the flower market in the area (1995-2001).

• Waterfront Flower Market (Canton Tower)

◦ Time: Feb 4 – Feb 16 (10:00-22:00 daily) | 13 days

◦ Location: West Plaza, Canton Tower Square

◦ Highlights: A long-term market blending flower displays, cultural creations, food, and modern elements like e-sports activities.

3. Liwan District

• Liwan Flower Market

◦ Time: Feb 14 & 15: 8:30 AM – 12:00 AM (midnight), Feb 16: 8:30 AM – 2:00 AM (the following day) | 3 days

◦ Location: Liwan Road

◦ Highlights: Integrates Xiguan cuisine and intangible cultural heritage experiences for an immersive festive atmosphere.  

• Waterborne Flower Market

◦ Time: Feb 12 – Feb 14 | 3 days

◦ Location: Liwan Lake Park, Lizhiwan Stream, Cantonese Opera Art Museum

◦ Highlights: Features themed flower boats on the water, recreating the charm of traditional aquatic flower markets.

4. Tianhe District

• Time: Feb 13 (8:30) – Feb 17 (the next day 2:00) | 5 days

• Location: Tianhe Sports Center

• Highlights: Returns to this central location, allowing visitors to enjoy flowers against the backdrop of Guangzhou's new central axis skyline.  

5. Baiyun District  

• Time: Feb 14 (9:00) – Feb 16 (22:00) | 3 days  

• Location: Yuncheng East Road, Baiyun Wanda Plaza  

• Highlights: Features a strong "Year of the Horse" theme with interactive checkpoints (e.g., "Eight Steeds") and fantasy performances.  

6. Huadu District  

• Time: Feb 14 (9:00) – Feb 16 (22:00) | 3 days  

• Location: Guangzhou Flower World, Dongbian Village  

• Highlights: Theme: "Blossoms over the Airport, Vibes in Huadu." Features around 268 stalls with traditional flowers and a local specialty section.

7. Panyu District

• Time: Feb 12 – Feb 16 (9:00-23:00 daily) | 5 days

• Location: Wanbo Center Commercial Street, Nancun Town

• Highlights: Offers lion dances, robotic performances, and intangible cultural heritage experiences alongside shopping.

8. Nansha District

• Time: Feb 10 – Feb 15 | 6 days

• Location: Haibin Road, Nansha Street (near Taiji Park)

• Highlights: A long-duration market with zones for flowers, kumquats, couplets, and festive goods.

9. Conghua District

• Time: Feb 12 (9:00) – Feb 16 (22:00) | 5 days

• Location: Fengyunling Wetland Park

• Highlights: A one-stop destination with various sections covering festive plants, food, and crafts.

10. Zengcheng District  

• Time: Feb 11 (9:00) – Feb 16 (22:00) | 6 days  

• Location: Zengcheng Square North Plaza  

• Highlights: Offers a wide variety of traditional Chinese New Year plants and a special local exhibition zone, providing a convenient one-stop shopping experience for residents.

11. Huangpu District  

• Time: Feb 12 – Feb 16 | 5 days  

• Location: Main venue: Huangpu Park; Secondary venues: Shuixi Road (Science City) & Kaifang Road (Knowledge City)  

• Highlights: Uses a "3+N" model (3 main venues + numerous neighborhood sales points) to spread the festive atmosphere.
