From 12:00 on May 3 to 12:00 on May 5, there were 29 new local cases in Guangzhou, including 21 new locally transmitted cases and 8 asymptomatic infections. Since April 30, no infections have been detected at the community level (in non-controlled areas) for six consecutive days.
It was announced by Chen Bin, Deputy Head of Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, at a press conference on Guangzhou's fight against COVID-19 held today (May 5).

On May 4, more than 50,000 medical staff at 7,832 sampling sites across the city collected a total of 19.31 million samples, and all the results are negative.
Since April 28, a total of 128 cases have been reported during this wave of epidemic, and there are no severe or critical infections.

On May 5, Baiyun CDC released a notice saying that YH City, Helong Subdistrict (鹤龙街YH城), was a key place related to the epidemic.
From April 28 to May 3, if you have been to YH City, Helong Street (Address: No. 208, Helong 1st Road, Helong Subdistrict, Baiyun District 白云区鹤龙街鹤龙一路208号) , please report to YH City by phone immediately (Tel: 020-35872833), and cooperate with epidemic prevention and control measures.
Tips for people travelling / returning to Guangzhou
Chen Bin stressed, “Individuals with a travel history to cities having medium- or high-risk areas within the last 14 days are required to provide a green health code and a negative nucleic acid test result within 48 hours.”
Upon their arrival, visitors should report to their community, hotel, or place of work as soon as possible, receive 2 nucleic acid tests in 3 days, and conduct self-health monitoring for 11 days.
A negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours is required for residents to leave Guangzhou.
After the May Day holiday, Guangzhou will see peak of the return of a large number of people, Yang Zhicong, Headof the Guangzhou CDC, called upon visitors to report to the community and cooperate with health management measures.

Meanwhile, high-frequency testsfor key industries and populations are ongoing. Yang noted, “After the holiday, all teachers, students and employees back to school needtake a nucleic acid test within one week. For the surrounding population in any potential risk area, it is necessary to strengthen random testing.”
11+6 local COVID-19 cases reported in Guangzhou on May 4
On May 4, Guangzhou reported 11 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases (including 1 converted from a previously reported asymptomatic infection) and 6 local asymptomatic cases.

Case 1 (converted from an asymptomatic infection): living in Haoli Garden, Xinya Subdistrict, Huadu District (花都区新雅街道豪利花园), was converted from an asymptomatic infection that was reported on May 3.
Case 2: living in Donghua Village, Renhe Town, Baiyun District (白云区人和镇东华村).
Case 3: living in Gaozeng Village, Renhe Town, Baiyun District (白云区人和镇高增村).
Case 4: living in Hebian Village, Helong Subdistrict, Baiyun District (白云区鹤龙街道鹤边村).
The above cases 2-4 were detected during screening of close contacts who were under centralized quarantine.
Cases 5-11 live in Xicheng Village, Renhe Town, Baiyun District (白云区人和镇西成村), and they were all detected during screening in the lockdown area.

Jiangmen reports 2 new locally transmitted cases
On May 4, Guangdong’s Jiangmen reported 2 new locally transmitted cases, one was detected among close contacts during centralized quarantine, and the other was converted from a previous asymptomatic infection.
