On June 17, China Southern Airlines flight CZ661 took off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Rome Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, marking the resumption of this international route.
Operated by a Boeing 787, three round trips are scheduled every week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
“The resumption of the route gives us a new choice when travelling to Europe. Taking off from Guangzhou, we can arrive at Rome in the morning (local time), and it’s also very convenient to transfer to other flights,” said Miss Liu, a passenger on flight CZ661.
In doing so, the airline will help enhance the people-to-people exchanges between China and Italy, as a part of the efforts to promote connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative and provide more travel options for passengers of the two countries.
