The 9th United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific Congress was held in Zhejiang province from this week.
During the Congress, Zhang Yajie, Vice President of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was re-elected as the President of the Standing Committee of Women in Local Governments of United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) and the Co-President of UCLG ASPAC (2023-2025).
According to the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the re-election shows recognition by the international community of Guangzhou's participation in urban governance over the years, especially in women and children affairs and inclusive urban development.
