The 2023 Guangzhou International Light Festival is held from November 21 to November 30.
During the period, Haixinsha Island, one of the best viewing spots, will be open normally by day and close at 5 p.m.. The Haixinsha Station on the APM Line will be closed from 6 p.m. and suspend all services.
In addition, the Guangzhou Opera House Station on the APM Line, which is adjacent to the main venue of the festival, will also be closed from 6 p.m. on November 21, 24, 25 and 26.
Some stations, such as Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center Station and Huacheng Dadao Station of APM Line, the Canton Tower Station and Zhujiang New Town Station of Line 3, are expected to take passenger flow control measures according to the actual situation. Some entrances and exits may be designated as "exit only," "entrance only," "temporarily closed," and other ways to reduce congestion.
The average daily passenger flow during the festival is expected to reach 9.4 million. According to Guangzhou Metro, traffic will peak between the night of November 24 (Friday) and November 26 (Sunday).
People are advised to avoid jammed roads in the next two weeks, pay attention to the live broadcast in stations, follow the guidance of metro staff, and enter the station in an orderly manner.
