Guangzhou recently ranked 8th in the global ranking of scientific research cities, which was released in the "Nature Index 2023", surpassing both Tokyo and Paris.
This achievement is attributed to Guangzhou's significant investment and rapid development in the field of technological innovation.
Since 2018, Guangzhou has seen a steady rise in scientific research output. The city has implemented a strategy of innovation-driven development and has established technological innovation platforms, such as the Guangzhou Laboratory and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center.
Guangzhou plans to continue strengthening its efforts in basic research and talent cultivation by collaborating with universities and research institutions to foster innovation and economic growth.
