As the New Year's Day holiday of 2024 approaches, Guangzhou Metro will extend its operating hours by 1.5 hours on December 31, 2023, and 1 hour on January 1, 2024, respectively.
It is expected that the passenger flow on December 29 and 31 may exceed 10 million, according to Guangzhou Metro.
During the holiday, Guangzhou Metro will increase the number of trains, volunteers, and on-site maintenance personnel at key stations to ensure safe and smooth operation. There will be approximately 30 spare trains per day.
On December 29, peak passenger flow is expected to be seen at transportation hub stations (Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Tianhe Coach Terminal), large transfer stations (Jiahewanggang, Yantang, Chebeinan, Wanshengwei), as well as stations adjacent to scenic spots and commercial districts (Canton Tower, Tiyu Xilu, Zhujiang New Town, Kecun).
On December 31, there will be a large and prolonged passenger flow mainly concentrated in Gongyuanqian, Martyrs' Park, Yangji, Tiyu Xilu, Zhujiang New Town, Canton Tower, Haixinsha, Kecun, and Hanxi Changlong.
